About Us – Who We Are
Griffiss Business and Technology Park is a center of commerce and economic activity in and around Rome, New York, encompassing 3,500 acres which were formerly Griffiss Air Force Base. Its urban atmosphere is complemented by the benefits afforded by the adjacent cities of Rome and Utica, and the beautiful setting of the surrounding Mohawk Valley region.
The development of Griffiss Park is overseen by the Griffiss Local Development Corporation, a not-for-profit agency established by New York State for this purpose. GLDC has a 15-member board and is, in essence, a real estate developer dealing solely with Griffiss Park. Mohawk Valley EDGE, the economic development agency for Oneida and Herkimer Counties, provides staff to GLDC.
