Businesses in the Mohawk Valley and Central New York have had great success attracting highly skilled scientists and engineers.

• Air Force Research Laboratory and its contractors employ 1,600 individuals with backgrounds in engineering and high technology.  In the past five years, more than 100 new engineers have been hired by the Lab.
• Lockheed Martin, Sensis Corp., Syracuse Research Corp., Syracuse University and Welch Allyn Inc. have hired 1,239 engineers, technicians and professionals in the past two years.
• The Masonic Medical Research Laboratory, recognized for advances in the genetic screening of cardiac arrhythmias, has recruited a staff of highly skilled life sciences professionals, many from out of the area.

Working Solutions has four centers throughout a three-county region, providing access to registered job seekers throughout Central New York and the state.

• Training – Work closely with BOCES, MVCC and SUNYIT to identify skill sets needed and curriculums that build competencies.  Fund training to special needs populations.
